Many reasons can be told. (1) First of all the body language of Indians on that night after scoring 190 against Bangladesh. Everbody predetermined that they are going to loose and they could not defend that total. Eventhough Pakistanis scored very less total still they have not given up the fight against the Ireland still last moment.
(2)The captain who has no simple ideas not to speak about innovative ideas. While India was batting against Bangladesh and when Ganguly and Yuvraj were going smoothly he should have sent tothem message that they should continue upto last over without bothering the runrate. Had both of them stayed upto last overs 220 could have been achieved. Compared to Jayawardene who thinks for every ball to bowl and who very shrewdly asked his wicketkeeper to come close to stumps for Uthappa, Dravid is nothing. (3) Irfan Pathan`s form for the last one year. He should have been given training by the likes of Wasim Akram (4) Romesh Powar should have been selected ahead of Harbajan. Romesh did well last year in West Indies.
