I think Chappel is just trying to save himself from the harsh criticism that he'll be facing after coming back to India. Thats why he is trying to find a scapegoat. I strongly believe that whatever he said is right, but the timing is not right. Had he said this in his autobiography 10 yrs down the line then it would have been okay.
When Chappel joined the Indian team as a coach couple of yrs back, he tried to impress everyone by giving 'Vision World Cup 2007'. He kept experimenting and kept losing matches. He then safeguarded himself from the criticisms of losing by saying that his main aim is to get world cup for India. Great planning.
Where do we stand after all this, we lost lot of matches in the last 2 yrs as well as didnt qualify for the Super 8s.
Chappel can be forgiven for all his experimentation prior to the World cup but he should not be forgiven for this pathetic performance of the Indian team in the world cup.
