Withdraw the Indian cricket team altogether
by Sunderam Aiyer on Mar 26, 2007 04:43 PM

Indian players cannot of course take a leaf out of the Bangladesh Players, since they are supposedly "vastly experienced" side. But it is seen of late that this vast experience did not serve any good during the cruch time. Bangladesh players on the other side had nothing to lose and played like they have nothing to lose and gave it their all. This is one attitude Indian team should adopt. But since this "vastly experienced" side of ours does not stoop to such levels as taking example of Bangladesh team, the entire team should be relegated to the benches and our "Under-19 side" should be incorporated with full honors. They should be the eleven playing in the tests, One dayers etc. This young and energetic team is the one India requires for the immediate future. Before the player is accepted he should sign a contract that for two or four years, he is just to play cricket and not do any advertisements of any sort. This should help our players focus on their task. Also "pay as per your performance" should be introduced. This will enable healthy competition within the ranks and only the good players will come to the team. If Mr. Sharad Pawar should take some lessons, please listen to all the people who are taking their time out and contributing to this Discussion Board!!!
