Ten questions
by Kevin Alphonso on Mar 25, 2007 09:08 AM

1) If Sachin fails consistently in the Big matches, is someone talking to him about this.
2) Why do senior Indian cricketers always deflect criticism when they fail. Why can't the captain and coach take their players to task instead of defending them.
3) We say Sachin is a mentor. But isnt his failing in key matches send a wrong signal to the youngsters that failure is tolerable.
4) India makes all kinds of trouble with ICC for sponsor cotracts etc, but can't perform at any ICC tournaments. Isn't it time ICC called their bluff.
5) Why can't a legend like Chappell correct Indian batsmen's fear against genuine pace and swing.
6) If Indian's are the best players against spin who used to give Warne nightmares, how come they struggle against Jayasuriya's, Muralis and Brad Hoggs.
7) If we are the cradle of spi having produced the famous Spin Quartet of the sixties, how come our bowlers no longer take 4 wickets in a match, while Brad Hogg and Vettori regularly win matches for Aus.
8) BCCI has been boasting about bringing megabucks to Indian cricket, but what use is that if we can't reach semifinals of major tournaments anymore.
9) If India is tigers at home, how come we couldn't reach even the semis of the Champions Trophy.
10) After a decade, we found India's only second ever all-rounder in Irfan Pathan, but treated him badly when he started to faulter. This is the boy who exceled as #3 when the team forced him to be pinch hitter. How can we keep our only all-rounder on the bench in a World Cup.
