People are trying to copy the MVP concept from NBA/NHL but in cricket the numbers do not absolutely reflect the contribution to victory as it does in NBA/NHL where the number of goals directly contribute to result.Sometimes you have to take into account the match situation and how the contribution affected the end result, rather than just figures. In a low scoring game (like Pak Vs Ireland) even a score of 30 or 40 is much more critical than a 70 or 80 in a high scoring game (like India Vs Bermuda). So I just think this is a pure academic exercise and does not convey anything.
