shocked and extremely sad
by on Mar 19, 2007 02:59 AM

I was shocked and I am still shocked. I first read the news that he was unconscious from the Cricinfo commentator during the ongoing Canada vs Eng match. I couldn't believe that this happened and he was in the hospital. I switched on my TV to hear the worst. And that he was in critical condition and his chances of survival was extremely low. I was deeply saddened to hear this and just about half an hour later...I hear the inevitable... "Bob Woolmer is dead". Shocking and tragic. We all need to pray for him. My heartfelt condolences to his entire family. May his soul rest in peace. I don't know why...I am so moved by his death...I don't even know him that well..and I was reading some of his articles yesterday and his reactions after Pak lost to Ireland. Its so saddening...as arbind said...it felt that someone close to me had passed away. Let this be a lesson to all the cricket fans in the world. Please please don't take these games to your heart. If India loses..doesn't matter..its not the end of the world. What's more important is that today, today you are alive and in this world. Live your life like there is no tomorrow and thank God for giving you this life. The World Cup atmosphere has been greatly affected and there should definitely be atleast a day's mourning. Bob was a great coach, cricketer and more important a genuinely good human being. God bless Bob and his family. Peace to this world.
