Sudden Death or Stress Death
by Narayanan Vincent on Mar 19, 2007 11:58 AM

Bob Woolmer made the world sit up and take notice with his advanced methods in Cricket Coaching. But of what use is all of that, if Stress on and off the Cricket Field cannot be battled effectively. Was this a case of Stress post the Pak-Ireland match or was it a simple case of his health giving in? A man of his position and stature, knew he had Diabetes and was taking the required precautions to contain the disease. Therefore logic tells me that the shock loss to Ireland sent his Blood Sugar shooting skywards, that could have led to all the vomitting and release of blood. A man who brought so much joy to South Africa and Pakistan died in terrible pain. Don't we therefore as nation need to enjoy this gentleman's game as much as possible instead of inflicting pain on ourselves by being so 'reactive' to the way our team plays?

Peace and Regards
