Stop praising Ganguly in this match...
by Madhavan on Mar 18, 2007 10:03 PM

We lost BECAUSE of GANGULY. He set the tempo of the match and made bangladesh bowlers seem mighty. He opened with Sehwag and made his 50 only in the 36th over. I will not praise him for his 66 in this match. He did not play to his real capacity/experience/talent. I don't know why. Of course no one else played well. I again don't know why.
Let Ganguly play his natural real game in next match and I will praise him. Not in this match. He is one of the main cause for our defeat in the first match.
Dravid and Chappel are to be blamed for letting the batting go in its own slow course. What prevented them from sending someone into the field and tell the batsmen to increase strike rate? What is the experience factor everyone is talking about? Doesn't simple sense and all the experience say that a run rate of 2.3 at the end of 20 overs will only put pressure at the later course? Ganguly & co. only put pressure on themselves by their snail pace batting and they had enough experience to know it would not help.
Of course bangaladesh bowlers bowled decently, but I am not ready to believe they were threatening in any manner.

--- A hurt fan..
