message from the West Indies
by varma on Mar 08, 2007 02:55 PM

Zaheer I saw a West Indies New Zeeland match in the late 60 s in Georgestown Guyana. I was with my father. What I want to say is that Turner from New Zeeland got a double century. Since then the West Indies cricket grounds has not changed much. They are batting paradizes. Only I saw a spinbowler from India called Prassana doing unpossible things with the ball. Even Sir Garry Sobers was very careful with Mr.Prassana.
As a fast bowler you have to be pinpoint on line with each and every delivery. If you can keep bowncers on head hight you will be succesful. The hard grounds allow the balls to bounce easily. Even West Indian fast Bowlers had problems with keeping the bouncers on the correct hight I once saw with Sanjay Manjrekar.
So good luck. Same to say to my West Indian pacemen. Its that extra bounce that counts . But it should land on nose hight.Marshall was a master in getting it. He was a variety men.
Dr.Varma from the Windies.
