It seems like the author got upset after finding the ICC schedule and fore-seeing of the Super-Eight stage.
Yes, it does sound a little strange that ICC foresee the two teams qualifying from each group and laid out the schedule accordingly. But I don't understand why the author got so much upset over this.
The author could have written the same article in a calm way rather than using words like "Breaking News", "irony", "eyewash", etc.
