New age portal journalism
by SureshKumar KG on Mar 06, 2007 04:28 AM

I think the author misunderstood the schedule totally.

Here is how it is given in the ICC-site

Group A Group B Group C Group D

1 AUS (1) SL (2) NZ (3) PAK (4)

2 SA (5) IND(8) ENG(7) WI (6)

3 SCOT(12) BEN(11) KEN(10) ZIM (9)

4 NET (16) BER (15) CAN(14) IL (13

We all know what the numbers on the bracket means. But it is the number on left 1, 2 3 and 4 that the author took literally into consideration as a ranking for super eights.

This way,

D1 vs B2 becomes PAK vs IND (on April 15, Sunday)

A1 vs B2 becomes AUS vs IND (on March 31, saturday).

Well, it might as well turn up that way. Who knows? But still, its really silly for someone to write an article based on this.

This is what is called the "new age portal journalism" which means making money by selling ignorance and idiocy! And boy, they are proud of doing just that!

This is probably my first comment in this site. I just couldn't resisit this.
