I am sorry to see the sorry affairs of the cricketing management and the performance of the Indian Cricket team. Maybe it is too late now for Pathan to bring back his lost form, however, such remarks from the selectors do tend to put the players under stress and he may look at sea. But on the other side, let me remind our people that the players here are not amateurs or street players that they need to be explained things again and again. They are one of the highly paid professionals in their field and when they are getting paid and idolised, it is necessary for them to make sure that they are fully fit by practising. However, our team has more time for ad shoots and opening ceremonies, so when will they practise.
I read people's comments on Chappell and Colonel, but then please do remember that they are just managers and it is the players have to face the ball on the field. Had Chappell not raised an issue with Ganguly, how do you people think Ganguly would have fared today. By taking one's place as granted, there was no fire in the players for the past 2-3 years, otherwise how do you answer for the numerous games where we have lost despite being in winning positions. It is just that by issuing such warnings, the players have realised that their career is at stake and so they try to practise at least to keep themselves in reckoning.
We may have the best players on text, but our games have shown that it was just the brilliance of one or the other guy, that led to the victory. Our fielding grades will rank very much on the lowest rung of the world cup teams. This despite having so many professional trainers, etc, etc.
Whatever has happened has happened, now there is hardly any time to work on these things, the most i can say is that let the Indian team fight to its potential and play within its limitiations. More than winning the world cup, it is the manner in which we play is what matters. I would rather like to see our team fighting at all times making the opponents sweat and earn the place they deserve. Play like a true lion, without any shame without any fear, and the world cup is there for you to conquer.
