Poor selection of WC squad - reg.
by N J RAJAGOPAL on Feb 23, 2007 05:01 PM

There are number of players in this list who carry with them latent injury and the selection committee is aware of it. Munaf Patel, Pathan, Ajit Agarkar, Anil Kumble, Yuvarj Singh do have some injury. The Committee should not have selected such players in the first instance. Don't forget that Munaf Patel went to the lat test against South Africa and he did not anything that match. In fact he spoiled India's chance of winnning a Test series against SA in South Africa. The selection committee headed by Vengsarkar has comprised on fitness aspect to the detriment of the team. Moreover, it has not been bold enough to take good decisions i.e. to drop Shewag. Not selecting VVS Laxman, Romesh Pawar in the final count is going to prove wrong and how biased the whole selection process was.
