Aussie team spirit won
by saravana kodandapani on Apr 29, 2007 11:43 AM

It was great to see gilli play the way he did, I could not have imagined gilli playing any other way in the final, If gilli failed, ponting/Hayden/symonds/hussey/clarke would have played a similar innings and made sure that aussies reach close to 300. I cannot remember even one important game final where the aussies have been challenged squarely. It is a tribute to the way of life, the sporty attributes coulpled with the aussie brilliance that dominate their day to day sphere of activity. It is no use comparing them to other nations in sports which get dominated by physique and attitude namely, cricket, football, rugby, hockey, swimming etc etc. They will not do well in sports where extreme skill is required like golf, chess, badminton, billiards, table tennis etc. I think Indians do well in those games where extreme skill is required but is not a team game. So all of us must start to realize our strengths and support those games where we can excel like chess, billiards, golf, tennis etc. Stop expecting our cricketers to win, it is not in their genes to play like the way aussies did even 100yrs from now
