The underarm ball and the hurried experimentalist
by Gajanan Mohite on Apr 23, 2007 04:51 AM

When Greg advised his brother Trevor to ball a underam ball versus New Zealand, it revealed , the man, his aptitude for madness and desperateness. The Indian selectors should have thought twice before selecting Greg Chapell. He has been a captain and would not like to take , a second line in coaching as well as decision making. It is just like a cat gone milkless for years and suddenly it tastes milk and recollects the joy it had in tasting milk and then lo behold it starts meeowing again. This meeowing must have caused all the problems. The selectors should think many times before selecting a coach. A low profile coach would be better or if a high profile coach is appointed then go for young players with only the captain as the senior player. There will be problems if an Indian coach is appointed. He will be biased with regional affliations making its rounds. Why not appoint an Indian coach , with no say in selections. Well, they may not agree as it firmly clips the power. If a good player agrees to this then go for this arrangement.
