Gavaskar's comments can be made by anybody and have been done umpteen times. They hardly serve the real purpose, to improve the state of affairs.
Frm a casual talk with a Bangla Deshi worker, I could feel that they knew India and Pakistan were easily beatable because the earlier difference never existed any more. They had beaten better teams and were hungry.
If Gavaskar is sincere, he can do more than justwords. Why can't he step forward and take up the challenge and prove Chappell wrong. A person of his experience and stature should go beyond words. Otherwise, it is just cheap publicity and scoring points
