Why India lost ?
by Prasad Shastri on Apr 16, 2007 07:51 AM

India lost to Bangladesh because they were afraid of losing to an inferior ranked side. As an unit, India in the last 20 years have consistently lost key matches and finals irrespective who the opponent, coach or captain are. This fear of losing is due to the pressure and hype of expectations created by the media and fans. It is easy for us to criticise that if they earn the kind of money they do, then they should be able to handle it.

Bangladesh is going thru the same phase after beating India and then South Africa and they lost to Ireland ranked lower than them and a non test playing side because they tried too hard not to lose.

Bangladesh is also a cricket crazy country.

In the other countries cricket is not the only sport and therefore does not get hyped to that extent.

So fans would be dissapointed if Australia or South Africa lost key matches but would analyze the defats rather than behave in a crazy fashion.
