Indian cricket

Now Ravi Shastri is going to be appointed as team's manager. There is a heavy doubt about the capabilities of Shastri as a manager/coach as he has nothing new to offer. As a player he was never comfortable against fast bowling because of his limited strokes. His limited capability as a player casts a huge shadow on the prospects of his performance as a manager/coach.Though he was relatively successful in early 80's but as his style of playing became known to opponent teams his performance deteriorated. That was more apparent during late 80's and during world cup'92 which ultimately resulted into end of his carrear as a player.I think Gavaskar or Amarnath would have a better choice but as we see most of the times in history of Indian cricket,Gavaskar has expressed his non availability and Amarnath would not be choosen because of his straight forwarded nature and his realations with BCCI stalwarts.O.K. lets hope for the better for Indian cricket and expect Shastri to be as aggressive/active as a manager as he used to show during his playing days.
