RE:RE:Sachin would have been out of the Team
by chintan gosalia on Apr 05, 2007 12:25 PM

Dear ashwani. I think you are totally wrong. Sachin is a good player; but I agree that India has not produced many good players. Most of the players have done a great job in the subcontinent, but once out of it, they all fail. When was the last time Sachin got a series victory for india outside of subcontinent? My memory is not too good, do you remember?

Also players are not great just by their batting or bowling skill, but self-respect and discipline are also very important. Donald bradman, viv richards are great player and so was sachin; but looking at his attitude and desire for personal achievement; i would not say that in future. One should not be in team just because he did a great job in the past or just bcoz he has a passion for the game. I also have a passion for cricket; does not mean i should be part of the indian cricket team.

Time for a lot of senior cricketers to retire. Do not blame a coach for your failure. He can be a part of a failure but most of the work come out of the team and their spirit towards a game.
