RE:Chappel is responsible- so is dravid
by George William on Apr 03, 2007 02:30 PM

Fully agreed. But what will the coach do if the players do not play as instructed by him or what will the captain do if his team mates do not want to listen to him..........I will give u a classic example.........During the match against Srilanka, Agarkar in Malinga's Over went back and on one knee tried to swipe the ball over mid on but did not connect.....Dravid the non striker goes to him and asks him to calm down....... the second ball is outside the off stump and again Agarkar goes for a mighty sweep and again the captain goes down to him and asks him to calm down.......if this was a Australian or South African or Bangladesh player they would have listened to the captain & would have taken a single the next ball and handed the strike over to the non striker......but what did Agarkar do the next ball he again goes for a big hit and gets caught in the deep and walks back giving his captain a scornful look..............so where does your contention of Dravid being accountable for the team failures. First, understand the situation and then give your comments.
