Tendulkar and Chappell
by on Apr 04, 2007 02:07 PM

Tendulkar has served the country for around 17 yrs which is a great achievement. Over the last 5 yrs his performance has been bad by his own standards and he was down with lot of injuries. He also set high expectations in the initial 12 yrs and people forgot that its a team game.

Hence we cant blame Tendulkar for India losing matches but the whole team as they also need to stand up and be counted when it matters. There have been numerous occations in the past when Tendulkar has made a big score and India have lost because others did not contribute enough.

Instead of continuing this debate on Tendulkar, we should allow him to choose when he will retire and how long he will play.

As far as Chappell is concerned, what he contriuted to Indian cricket before he became coach is far greater than what he contributed after he became coach. That speaks volumes of the damage this man has done to Indian cricket.

I feel he is just trying to follow the policy of divide and rule much like the British did more than over a century ago and if we give in to Mr Chappell its nothing more than a NATIONAL SHAME!!!
