narasimham, the core problem lies in the dual standards of the team management towards different players !!! If u make rules like "perform and play" then it's ok that they sacked ganguly, but why they did just the opposite to sehwah, will it not raise eyebrows within the team itself ??? Though I believe ganguly's exclusion was more political than cricketing reasons but then also he was not performing too .... but u just cannot devide the team on the basis of ur personal favorism . This is enough to devide a team being in and out of "good book" of team management !!! If u devide a team u can not win a match.. that's the core line.
