RE:The Greatest Forumula one driver ever
by Vijay on May 02, 2008 11:50 AM

Seshadri:

You%u2019re wrong in your assumptions. Winning 7 titles in a sport decided by relative speeds sport when the quality of the opponents was dud does not mean much. Also Ferrari were already stronger and their Dynamic Inquisition Laboratory set up in 98 did a great deal in improving the quality of their cars. Schumacher was a great driver, no second thoughts but six out of his seven titles were due to superior car Engines and a inferior completions. Had he raced along with Prost, Senna and Mansell he would%u2019ve just another good driver. Comparing Schumacher with Senna is as good as comparing Carl Lewis with Linford Christie, Maradona with Ronaldinho or Tendulkar with Sehwag.

The %u201Clatter mentioned sportsmen%u201D are class though but never ever in the league of the former.

It%u2019s as dumb as saying to say the winner of Olympics gold medal is the fastest runner ever
Ignoring the time frame and other facets.

%u201CSenna also complained about the pace of the car at the begining of the fatal season%u201D

Really! Senna never complained about the pace of the car. In the previous season he had lost out the world title as he was competing with an inferior car. In his fatal season the then F1 president removed Electronic Traction Control from the car Engines and he said drivers must be in control to control the pace %u2013 Senna opposed it from the start. ETC normally controls the car when it rails the pavement and spins along and ironically the removal of ET
