It was disheartening to see the disparity of awarding medals to events, Eventhough some may see no logic behibd my opinion. The first Gold medal of Olympics2008 was in the grueling Roadrace Cycling (245km) race. I wonder why one has to strain for 245km for medal, when in swimming you can get gold for just 50m or 100m. The same in case of Marathon/heptathlon/decathlon/triathlon. Let IOC stop all these gruelling events for just 3medal standing or stop these verry short swimming. I donot think Phleps winning 8 gold is a great achievement. May be he i sgreat in Swimming. But in General Spot NO. It fades in comparision to the 245km roadrace. Let him take part in triathlon atleast for medal contention SSR
