We need to setup 12 IISAs all over India.
by Vishnu Sharma on Aug 05, 2008 08:31 AM

IISA is Indian Institute for Sports and athletics

The sole goal of the IISA is to identify, enroll, and coach future olympic athletes and GOLD MEDALISTS in every sport that is there in the Olympics.
Also former Alumni of the IISA will serve as coaches for the next generation.

Unless this is done we cannot have a concentrated or systematic approach.

Those selected to the IISA will be the cream of sporting talent in the country in the same way IITs are the portals to the cream of intellectual talent.

These IISAs need all major companies in India to sponsor them and make them world class sporting facilities where the best athletes in the country compete with each other in world class facilities.

This can be done and the SPORTS ministry needs to take an initiative into this.

The initial investment will come to 25 billion rupees. Unless you set aside this money and build facilities, select the very best and nurture that talent in the very best and varied sporting environments we will continue to have a pathetic show at every Olympics while other nations steal a march over us.
