RE:Medal winners
by sriram kaushik on Aug 05, 2008 10:40 AM

your point is good. but its not only about feeling bad about not winning medals.its about the whole culture of being callous towards physical fitness . and to understand to excel in sport as in everything else one needs single minded determination not a balanced life with lots of friends ,parties , good colleges, cozy jobs , drinks ,dates ,nothing really should matter except to train and try your best to win . most successful athletes are imbalanced people who sacrifice a lot to do what they are doing . which is why cricket is so popular here . in cricket skill outweighs practise , you can have your cake and eat it too.
