Religion, root cause of all evil??
by rationalist on Nov 10, 2006 07:51 PM

i am highly anxious after reading all the mesgs posted by various individuals. guys n gals, the religions (hindu, muslim, christian) follow texts and scriptures written over 5000 years and above. do you think that the laws n rules written for that era or age will be of any use or make sense in this 21st century? dont take the bible, koran, or the mahabharatha literally. if u take it literally, u will end up murdering somebody!!. for example, in one of the above mentioned holy texts, its said that "if u come across a person who believes in a different god, u stone hime to death!!. or its a big crime to collect sticks on sabbath, which is punishable by death.hmmm.... these texts were written with the 6th century society mindset. and, until and unless someone prove that god truely exists, that the scriptures are truely his word, take it easy... u have better things to do in life than fight with a fellow human being saying " my religion is right, ur religion is wrong!" Its not only abt respecting religion, but mostly abt respecting each other as humans. u fight, u die, but at the end of the day there wont be any god to save u... only u can save urself.. think abt it.. PEACE.
