Hi Thathagata Remember, if not for BJP, india wouldn't be secular...Only bcoz hindus are in majority, india is secular.
If BJP is not there, there will be ramphant conversions and hindus would cease to be majority. that will imply that you & me cant lead our life the way we are leading now...
It would have been a semi muslim / christian (like NE states) country.
Even now, u cna see that wherever muslims are in more numbers, they tend to convert that place to be of difficult for hindus to live there. Same with the christians.
Though the christian countries like US and Europe are secular mainly due ot their democratic roots, christians in india are converted people, and so they show a kind of extreame interest in conversions.
Thats the greatness of hindus, having a secular system inspite of them being in majority.
If not in 2008 election, atleast in 2012 BJP would capture power in centre and that will be the new beginning for India's future.
