TN caste politics has changed
by indiman on Jul 17, 2008 03:17 AM

In Tamilnadu it is not Brahmin- Non Brahmin anymore, those days are gone. It is Other Backward classes- Dalits. These OBC fools think they are superior to the Dalits while they are considered shudra according to the Varna system. Not many people in tamilnadu beleive in the Varna system as it is most shaivite and least vaishnavite state, there is no Brahmin, Kshatriya, Vanniya, Shudra clear divisions. There are probably The Cholas fought against Vaishnavism for 1500 years to preserve a society where every family had a man trained to be a soldier regardless of caste. There were no untouchables under the Cholas. There was not a lot of superioty- inferiority between people and this why they where the longest and greatest empire in the world. Some of great Chola- Chalukya wars was simply about Shaivsm against Vaishnavism. They won many wars and destroyed dynasties that where numerically superior. Dynasties like Srivijaya in Indonesia to Kalinga in Orissa faced their wrath at different times for different reasons. But this new form of OBC- Dalit discrimination has nothing to do with Shaivism or Vaishnavism, this is about greed of the OBC's. If some of the great Chola kings lived to see what is happening today in TN they would be dissapointed. All those fools among Vanniyars, Devars, Naidus, Nadars....... need to stop the bullshit and start acting responsibly.
