Congress priorities are all wrong
by Suresh Menon on May 20, 2008 02:37 PM

No discussion should be held unless Pak Rangers stop firing across the border. Our jawans are getting killed on a daily basis.

Alas the congress government does not care about this. They want to play the good neighbour with Pak, with an eye on minority votes in upcoming elections.

Our PM dreams of having tea in Amritsar, lunch in Islamabad and dinner in Kabul. Hope his dreams come true one day. But should that be at the cost of sacrificing national interests and the precious lives of ordinary jawans?

With terror strikes all over the country and border firing by Pakis, the people of this country are not amused. Trade with Pakistan is not as high a priority for the people of this country as security to their lives.

Well our dear Congressmen want to go ahead with 'normalcy of relations' with pakistan even at the cost of thousands of lives. What is the prize? A few thousand minority votes.

NB: The present Paki dispensation, continuing the policies of Benazir with continue beating around the bush as far as Kashmir is concerned. With Congress priorities in the wrong order, they are sure to trust the Pakis.

God save us.
