I failed to understand why the late Tendulkar never gave credit to the writer of the original Ghashiram Kotwal, Moroba Cannoba Vijayakar, whose book carries appreciation by the British rulers of Bombay at that time. When my father Khanderao Vamanrao Vijayakar wrote to Tendulkar asking about this he told him he had based his play in the introduction to Vijayakar's play written by N.R.Phatak. I wonder who will really appreciate the nuances of the original Ghashiram Kotwal writtten by my forefather
