RE:Is India a Great Country ???
by heramb gude on May 18, 2008 03:32 PM

If Hindus were intolerant and not accomodative as you claim, minorities in the country would not have survived and become history in the Indian context. It is a perfect paradox that you state India is being ruled by the Nehru-Gandhi family, which is opposed to the domestic credentials that India has embraced, and in the same post, you have eulogised Nehru as the great freedom fighter. While Nehru's contribution to the Indian freedom is inarguable, despite his elitist background,it was his second coming as the first PM of India, that has sadly left India with too many problems to contend.Just to name a few-1)unsolved Kashmir dispute,Chinese aggression towards India not nipped in the bud, reservation policy on caste grounds that has further fragmented the already fractious ndian society and his major folly in supporting the Chinese candidature for permanent membership of the UNSC
