Omar Abdullah is the new generation we want
by Kris iyer on May 16, 2008 08:13 AM

Muslims, the so-called "moderate" ones, dare not speak about their own community's violence inflicted upon non-muslims. In U.K. and Europe, it has been shown, they justify terrorism. In that background what Omar Abdullah has said is to be appreciated enormously.
As for the Indian army, the government must impart proper training in "human relations". Jawans and officers should know how to manage extremely difficult situations. It is not good for a disciplined army to go for indiscriminate or impulsive killings. I believe the Indian Public are very grateful to the Indian army but they are not proud of rowdy behaviour by army men. Whether in Kashmir or anywhere else, we want the army to be methodical but we will overlook their mistakes as long as they show good reasons why they killed civilians under certain circumstances. We should remember that the methods adopted by terrorists are also to be blamed in most cases. They go into mosques, hide amongst civilians, use human-shields of women and children.
