why i would still blame the people in top strata ? its because, manu smriti was not written by yadavs and thakurs, the root cause why downtrodden will always blame it on you know who...true, the brahmins of this day are more in sync with reality and open to things that would be classified as radical some decades back, infact the brahmin activists who are rooting for equality are more now than ever..but still the root cause lies in what they did thousands of years ago. The thakurs and yadavs did the dirty work as per manusmriti since ancient times and following it today as well
