Jyoti Basu is correct. The Governor ought to have taken up the matter with the Power Minister.
However, if the Governor wanted to suffer like other citizens, he could have instructed his staff to cut down the power for as many hours as needed for satisfying his sense of sacrifice. Being a grandson of Gandhi, he might need such acts of sacrifice. But, he should not embarrass the power minister and the WB government by seeking publicity for his acts of sacrifice.
As regards Jyoti Basu, the irony is he wants to talk about propriety of Governor's conduct. Heard of man living in glass house throwing stones?
