What next

Valmik Thapar...next name comes to my mind is Billy Arjan Singh, Belinda Wright who have made a lot of fame etc riding piggy back on the plight of tigers, but they have been able to give precious little back to the India Tiger & wildlife in General. I have sent 18 years of my life in the Forests of North Bengal due to my business and have had the experience of coming accross a number of common India Wild Life e.g. Elephants, Barking Deer, Wild Boars etc. Tiger? Yes once only. I have seen how grossly mismanaged & Corrupt are the Govt agencies who are supposed to look after the forests & protect the wild life. They are grossly underpaid, ill trained, lazy, de-motivated bunch. I cannot say that I am a wild life lover or expert, but there was a time when I knew the Forest as well as the forest dewellers. Feel very frustrated when I see crores & crores of money is pumped in the name of saving the India Tiger and no results are seen. No body is accountable. You will see Senior/ Middle level Forest officials riding comfortable SUV's with red lights/ beacons fitted on them, which should by all means fitted on their backside. The high ranking officials just do not know the ground reality and this is the curse all over India.Then you have the useless NGO's who also make money on the side. A few honestly have done a splendid job, but they are as rare as the Indian Tiger. The prevailing Law is toothless.
