Unfortunate Ideas
by Gaurab Sengupta on May 02, 2008 05:39 PM

"The shameless way wealth is flaunted is extraordinary"

In most cases, wealth doesn't fall from the sky. Statements like these will only encourage people (like those who would prefer to count on reservations than to work hard) to believe that wealth comes free to those who have it.

Anyway, I think hard-working affluent people too should take a lesson from books and statements like these. It means that when the work you do is not acknowledged, when you are surrounded by people who want a piece of the pie without working for it, then the time is ripe for you to find greener pastures, where your hard work will be acknowledged and where your opinion will matter to the powers that be. Though you may have worked hard all your life for the good of society and the country, when the doomsday that is predicted in this book arrives, it is you who will burn first at the stake.
