Every country or society that has disparities in wealth, posessions, living standards, etc must strive to create a "Safety Net" for the not so fortunate or well off. Concepts of Law of the Land, Right to own Property or Personal Liberty, Freedom of Speech, etc will only be sustained as long as a majority of the people are happy with their lot in life and have the basic necessities of life like sufficient food, shelter, clothing and access to education and a chance to improve their lot in life. Conspicous consumption and ultra luxurious living by a few stand out in socities where poverty abounds. Else the dangers of violent revolution, mutiny, rebellion or even anarchy & lawlessness lurk just beneath the surface. This is the situation the wealthy, elite and middle class have to realise and act upon.
