Karat is partly right when he says that the relationship with China should not be jeopardised. The BJP and Fernandes should not shout from the rooftops about the Government's China appeasement policy.
But then, the Government should have a stiff spine and call the Chinese bluff. Chinese have repeatedly insulted and snubbed India and yet the Government tries to soften up the Chinese sentiments. This is the time for India to ask China to give up its claim on Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh in return.
As for the Marxist stand, what else can one expect from them? They were pro-China during the Chinese War of 1962, called Mao Tse Tung as 'our chairman' and supported the massacre of Chinese students in 1989. Recently, they forced the Government to consider the claim of Chinese companies for Government contracts even though they were considered a security risk. And worst of all, they lobbied for the Chinese companies to bring in their own workers for their projects, when so many Indians are unemployed. Even the CITU was furious. But all these are only 'normal' for the Communists. For them, China comes first and India only after that.
We Indians are tb blame for voting such unscrupulous parties to power.
