You are absolutely right. When Indira Gandhi married Feroze Khan secretly, Nehru Objected to the marriage because she married Muslim. This was when Gandhiji was alive. Gandhiji intervined to help Indira. He adopted Feroze Khan & gave his name & converted Feroze Khan to Feroze Gandhi. Then Indira was again married officially to Feroze Gandhi. This is how Indira Khan became Indira Gandhi.
