Should be the classic case of death penalty
by Sudip Bhattacharjee on Mar 24, 2008 07:08 PM

This should be the classic case of death penalty. But what did the judge say?...

R K Sharma has an excellent service record as a police officer and extreme penalty is not needed in this case

- what the .... is the judge saying? Is this the way the Indian justice system works? He deserves death penalty and the judge made a huge mistake of not giving him. Past record of a person has nothing to do with first degree murder. He did not think about the relatives of the victims. They should appeal against the judgment immediately to higher court for the death penalty. I think in India we put undue sympathy to the criminal than what the victim deserves. Also remember that he will be eligible for parole after 14 years. So, I think, this is the height of stupidity of the Indian judicial system.
