Indian Media; Please Stop mutating the information
by kapil barman on Mar 24, 2008 08:04 PM

Its my strong advice to rediff and other indian media to stop editing the information in order to make is more sellable,, I have noticed it several times and now am quoting it in front of everyone to think about it.

here is one example...

here is a video shown my indian media all over

http://specials.rediff.com/news/2008/mar/17video.htm

When the Tibat woman saying sth in Mandarin, the subtitles came out was:
All the Tibetan people have gathered together yesterday on the street and the militery men come and fired some tear gas, some poisonous one, to us in the afternoon at 3 or 4PM and arrested about 10 or 20 people.

however, in case that I know Mandarin well, I translated what did she said for you:

I feel very difficult. Those minority splittists are doing distorting activities! we are all witnesses. They don't accept to live well-being lives. The children can't go to school, workers can't go for work normally, our good lives are distorted...

now u can see how different are the two translations. However i ask you all to use your sources to confirm it and then reach to the conclusion. If we keep on distorting things like this we will always spoil our relations with others.

and you can see from the subtitles, that snippet originated from CCTV!!! (Chinese National TV)

Thanks
