Why should anyone (UP/Bihari or anyone else) respect the ghattees? What have the ghaattees done to deserve any respect from anyone? Their language is primitive. Their dress sense is strange. For example their women wear lungis parted in the middle, and then the ghattees have the guts to make fun of the lungis of South Indians! Therefore, I believe that giving any respect to the ghattees is like appeasing an inferior culture. If we respect inferior cultures, pretty soon we will all become uncivilized just like the ghattees, and their ilk. In my opinion, left to its own devices, ghaattee culture, along with its people, will end up in the dustbin of history.
