Tibet situation
by on Mar 19, 2008 06:17 AM

Sorry guys as much as I love the Tibetans, we have done enough for them, providing them sanctuary, economic support etc. As we look towards the futue India needs to tread a close walking balance not to antoganize the Chinese given (i) we are looking for a parmanent security council spot (ii) We are next to China which still is the stronger power (though we are narrowing the gap), (iii) We have an achilies heel as well i.e. Kashmir!! If China decides to play that card we will be f--ked. SO Keep all your so called humanistic politics to your self ans think as India and explain why we should act at all. Our focus is not to take any position that jeopardizes our political position long term. So yes as people we can support the Tibetans, send them money if you care!!! Dont expect the government to open up a can of worms which can hurt us long term. We have to learn how to balance the US, Isreal, Germany, France and England vs. China, Middle East muslim countries vs. Japan etc.
