Indian politics and Indian politicians stand on a different footing compared to that of America although both the countries adopt the same type of democratic forms of Govt-one the oldest and the other oldest.Public awareness in India is poor and people tend to forget things-especially the misdeeds of the Govt very quickly and precisely it is here that the politicians defeated take advantage and get reelected with thumping majority subsequently notwithstanding their cheap and dirty strategies they repeat. Indians are like mother earth in patience and they endure any thing and every thing till things come to their neck. The proverbial democracy as enunciated by Abraham Lincoln-by the people, for the people and of the people comes to stay to a maximum extent in America where personal lives of the elected are not linked with every aspect of what the politicians do except in rare cases. In India we attach undue importance to trivial things of the politicians probing too much into their personal lives without focusing much on their usefulness and contribution to the welfare of the general public.Though MPs to us are like senators in America, they awfully lack independence and are required to go by the party's whip.Multiple party system of India spoils the fair show of democracy and gives a big handle for the politicians to play gimmics, change sides and take the voter for a ride.Indian politician,by and large, whether be in power or not knows only ecstacy and never agony.
