RE:SIMILARITIES BETWEEN SHIVAJI AND DAKU ( DACOITS )
by Prasad Rane on Mar 13, 2008 10:31 AM

I agree that decoits do not buiil permenant homes. Well said. However, Rajputs could built huge forts which still remain intact because adn follow a luxurious life style, as they pioneered the tradition of marrying the Mughal rulers to protect their own kingdoms. Mughal army was owned by Mughals but served by hoards of Rajputs. Coming to Shivaji, it was strategic to buiil forts on the mountains when it comes to fight a huge army, first of Nizams then of Mughals. Anyway, a person like you will never understand this because your understanding is in a sorry state. A piece o advise, please visit one fort in Maharashtra and then feel the heat in your pants while climing it on foot. Then comment. I feel sorry for those who without reading enough of history, take pride to comment on things which they have not even read in their wildest of the dreams. Please take a break from your routine, if affordable and read Maratha history. There are several instances recorded where the farmers remined protected under the rule of Shivaji and people from other religions had space to follow their own religion. I am aware that despite writing all these things, your notions won't change, as you are amongst those who are feel proud to be ignorant of facts and maintain a prerogative to make baseless and useless comments.
