I get astonished by King Shivaji's life whenever I read about him. He was a true patriot who inspired others with his prowess and raised a kingdom out of nothing. The great thing is, in the process he never missed a chance to follow his Dharma.
There was a situation when Shivaji's army defeated a Mughal occupied town. Some of the armymen came across a vey stunning and outstandingly beautiful mughal woman whom they thought to show to King Shivaji and see her as their queen. But, when they put the woman infront of Shivaji, he appreciated her beauty by saying that if my mother would have been so beautiful I would have also been so beautiful. And then respectfully let her return to her family.
Such a dignity and utterness in Dharma were well known qualities of King Shivaji. That's why they say -
"Divyatvachi Jethe Prachiti, Tethe Kar Maze Julati"
