From the various reports that have appeared in rediff, certain facts are now open to the public :- 1. Drugs, prostitution are pretty open in beaches. 2. Drug consumers are mainly foreigners. 3. Drug peddlars are Russians, Africans, certain Europeans and locals. 4. A lot of properties are owned by foreigners.
Where are we heading to? Goa is a popular tourist destination bringing in a lot of foreign currency. Not to mention that it is one of main earning source of Goa. If Goa becomes notorious for the wrong reasons, then even Indians will stop going. How can foreigners indulge so openly in drug peddling or other illegal, activities? What is the Govt. or Police doing? In the end these foreigners will go back to their country with the ill-gotten money and the loss will be of Goa's and the country. Why can't our Govt. be strict? It is a shame for our country that a 15 year old girl dies for wrong reasons. Imagine India will feel if an Indian girl dies for the same reason abroad.
