LTTE thought Rajiv was the main reason to kill more tamils in lanka. So they killed Rajiv. But as a great leader like Rajiv shouldn't have moved against tamils in srilanka. He did not understand the Tamils feeling..So LTTE killed him, and it is true that worldwide understood this reason..But this is also a major mistake politically by LTTE, that they should have waited some time to convince Rajiv instead of killing.
