RE:RE:Fact File : Bihar
by Deva Pratap Saathivayal on Mar 05, 2008 11:05 PM

I don't know you will ever read replies to your post, anyway I wanted to say some fact about Mauritius. Among Indians in Mauritius, the linguistic Indian community in population are Bengalis, Biharis & Tamils (includes Malayalees as they assimilated with Tamils), other communities. In that country's history, Tamils are the fastest to shine (proved their hard working and intellectual ability) and Tamils are economically advanced community and culture preserving group. Bengalis then picked up and Biharis are the last among Indians. Until recently most of the plantation works and the rural Indians were Biharis there. Fyi, most temples in Mauritius are built by Tamils. I am not trying to undermine Biharis but don't want Biharis to take undue credit. Thanks!
